This position plays a key role in advancing our mission to bring youth back to the farmland through innovation, education, and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Partnership Development

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with local and international partners, including development agencies, NGOs, academic institutions, foundations, and the private sector.
  • Represent Agricodeexpo Sierra Leone in external meetings, forums, and networks to position the organization as a preferred partner in youth-led agricultural development.
  • Develop Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and partnership agreements in coordination with leadership.

2. Resource Mobilization

  • Design and implement a robust resource mobilization strategy aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Lead the development of high-quality concept notes, grant proposals, and funding applications to bilateral donors, foundations, corporations, and international organizations.
  • Work with internal teams to create project budgets, logframes, and technical narratives for proposals.

3. Donor Engagement and Stewardship

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and potential donors, ensuring timely communication, reporting, and compliance with donor requirements.
  • Coordinate donor visits, field tours, and proposal co-creation workshops.

4. Internal Coordination

  • Collaborate with the Finance, MEAL, and Program teams to ensure proposals and reports reflect organizational capacity, impact, and priorities.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on partnership development and fundraising practices.

5. In-Kind Support & Local Fundraising

  • Identify local businesses, cooperatives, and media outlets that can provide in-kind donations, sponsorships, or technical assistance.
  • Launch community-based fundraising initiatives and innovation challenges in collaboration with the Communications Team.

6. Reporting and Knowledge Management

  • Maintain a database of donor contacts, submissions, deadlines, and funding opportunities.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly updates on fundraising activities, proposals submitted, and partnerships secured.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in partnership development, fundraising, or donor relations within the nonprofit or development sector.
  • Proven track record of securing funding from institutional donors (e.g., USAID, EU, UN agencies), foundations, and private sector entities.
  • Excellent proposal writing, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, diplomatic approach.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Krio or other local languages is an advantage.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Familiarity with agricultural development, youth entrepreneurship, or climate-smart initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
