Job Description

Location: Assigned District, Sierra Leone
Department: Programs / Field Implementation
Reports To: District Coordinator / Project Officer
Contract Type: Full-Time / Volunteer


Position Overview:

The Project Assistant will support the planning, coordination, and monitoring of Agricodeexpo projects at the district level. This role is ideal for a highly organized, energetic individual who is passionate about community development, agriculture, and youth empowerment. The Project Assistant ensures field-level activities are executed smoothly and supports reporting, logistics, mobilization, and communication between the community and the program team.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Activity Support & Coordination

  • Assist in organizing community meetings, training sessions, field visits, and local events.
  • Support project officers and technical staff in coordinating day-to-day field activities.
  • Liaise with youth groups, farmer cooperatives, and community stakeholders as needed.

2. Administrative & Logistical Support

  • Maintain attendance sheets, distribute materials, and support logistical arrangements for project events.
  • Track delivery and usage of project tools, seeds, or other resources at the community level.
  • File and organize documents, photos, and reports from district activities.

3. Data Collection & Reporting

  • Assist in collecting data from participants, including surveys, interviews, or checklists.
  • Ensure timely submission of basic reports, photos, and updates to the District Coordinator.
  • Help document community feedback, success stories, and participant experiences.

4. Communication & Outreach

  • Help mobilize participants for training, campaigns, and project activities.
  • Support awareness-raising campaigns, including social media content or local radio announcements (where relevant).
  • Maintain strong community relations and serve as a friendly, reliable contact point for local stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Agriculture, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in community projects, youth programs, or field coordination (internship or voluntary experience can count).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with rural community dynamics and willingness to travel frequently within the district.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
